One plus of waking up at 3.30am is I have more time to draw! 
In traditional depictions, such as paintings, evangelist portraits and church mosaics, St. Luke is often accompanied by an ox or bull, usually having wings.

Hey mate, thanks for the comment! THe illustration is drawn in Illustrator CS4 with a Wacom board/pen and then some texture added in Photoshop (some harsh level compression, then selection of the texture and deletion of that selection from the original line art)
