T.J. Barnum – Monster All Star (#49)

T.J. Barnum Monster All Star

Known to many simply as T.J., Thomas James Barnum was arguably the greatest player to grace the court in the MGBA (Monsters & Ghouls Basketball Association). Unstoppable in offence and equally at home under the boards in defence, T.J. equalled legend Milf Chamberslain’s 50-point average score per game in his last season. T.J. now lives with his wife Marcia and their three children in a New Orléans swamp system and manages his clothing company T.J. Sportswear.

It’s TLR Love (#44)

Twin-Lens Reflex... Sex on Film!

I love my Yashica 635, the vintage medium format 120 film camera I rock with when I get the chance. There is something about the permanency of film that I love. I shoot digital on commercial jobs, but for personal work I prefer film most of the time. Check out my Flickr stream to see some shots off the Yashica.

Hi to all the visitors from FRESHLY PRESSED! This illustration is #44 in my One Illustration a Day project. I am up to #56 today and you can check out all the illustration to date here

Sleight of Hand (#43)

Sleight of Hand

Sleight of hand, also known as prestidigitation (“quick fingers”) or legerdemain, is the set of techniques used by a magician (or card sharp) to manipulate objects such as cards and coins secretly. Sleight-of-hand techniques can also be used to cheat in gambling games, in street con games such as the three-shell game, or three-card monte to steal, or, sometimes, to claim supernatural powers, as in the performances of some 19th- and early 20th-century spirit mediums. ~ Wikipedia.

I’ve had this phrase rattling around in my head for a while as Pearl Jam and Radiohead have both used it in song lyrics and I thought it would be a cool thing to illustrate. So, here it is!

No Idea (#42)

No idea...

Just one of those days really, the creativity isn’t flowing and the normal lightning strike of inspiration has not come… but alas, I must solider on, for the good of… well, because a few people now know about this little project and I don’t want to look like a failure now do I!

After this one I still have 323 illustrations to do… a touch scary when you put a number on it!

The Pen or the Sword (#41)

The Pen or the Sword...

I really enjoy tattoo’s. Looking at them, seeing them getting done, getting them done on me. They are an awesome form of self-expression and when you get a good artist you really have a piece of fine art on your body forever… that is cool. Within the tattoo genre, the old school Sailor Jerry look is quite popular with the young’ns these days so today’s image is a little tip of the hat in that direction. The all-seeing eye, a (feather) pen and a sword… got no idea how that came about but here it is! 🙂
